Health and Welfare of $4.27 per hours paid based on Service Contract Act to be contributed to insurance plan

Job Summary: Maintains the food service work areas, equipment, carts, pots & pans, utensils etc. Responsible for all common areas of the kitchen, coolers, floors and bathrooms. Maintains the cleanliness of the dish area. All areas are to be kept clean and sanitary.

Hours: 7:15am-3:00pm

Required Qualifications & Essential Functions:

  • Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma/GED. One (1) year experience preferred.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety plans, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.


  • Completes shift work, as assigned, in a timely and thorough manner in accordance with department standards
  • Care and cleaning of kitchen equipment, dish room and pot washing areas
  • Washes pots, pans, trays and other cooking and serving equipment
  • May wash and peel vegetables and fruits
  • Operate and maintain dish room equipment according to sanitary standards
  • Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment
  • May transfer supplies and equipment between storage and work areas by hand or with the use of a hand truck
  • Removal of trash, separates into designated containers, and maintain clean floor in kitchen and dining area
  • Cleans and/or scrubs out trash and garbage cans
  • Informs chef, supervisor, in a timely manner when supplies are low
  • Arrive to work on time, fill pot sinks and dish machine for use
  • Remove any and all trash and open downstairs door for deliveries
  • Fill soda machines with ice
  • Begin washing the morning pots and pans
  • Drain and refill dish machine twice daily
  • Clean and sanitize cooking equipment as is needed (ex. tilt skillet, steam kettles)
  • Clean and sanitize all working surfaces as needed (ex. Back table, fryer)
  • Maintain dish area in a timely manner keeping up with pots and pans
  • Bake fresh cookies as needed
  • Cut dessert (cake and pies etc.) and put in containers as needed
  • Attend to the Salad bar during peak lunch hours
  • When orders come in put stock away and off the floor
  • Sometimes you will be asked to serve on the hotline when we are busy
  • Clean top of counters out front after trash is emptied or as needed
  • Sweep out refrigerators daily
  • Mop refrigerators twice a week or as needed
  • Make sure all tables in the back of the house are clean at the end of the day
  • Clean, sweep and mop the bathrooms once a week or if needed
  • Clean sink and commode (bathrooms) as needed and empty trash
  • Clean, sanitize and polish equipment on a regular basis (table shelves, oven doors,
  • Fryers, sinks, dish machine, etc.)
  • Organize utensils and pots and pans as needed
  • Keep all chemicals in mop room and keep room clean and organized
  • Drain and clean fryers as needed
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floor daily change water as needed
  • Deck brush the kitchen floor once a week or as needed
  • Clean and sanitize tables out in the dining room daily!
  • Other duties as assigned.

Food Safety/Sanitation

  • Responsible for ensuring proper presentation, portion control
  • Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • Handles foods items appropriately during preparation
  • Ensures proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes and in following prescribed production standards
  • Keeps display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service as assigned
  • Cleans equipment, as assigned and in a timely fashion
  • Cleans workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments

Customer Service

  • Represents company in a courteous, efficient, and friendly manner is all customer and employee interactions
  • Interacts with customers in a manner to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Serves customer food and beverage orders quickly, in proper portions, in a courteous manor
  • Demonstrates a complete understanding of daily menu items and explains same to customers accurately
  • Relays relevant comments from customers directly to supervisors
  • Consistently exhibits the ability to keep up with peak cafeteria hours and does so calmly, accurately and efficiently
  • Checks to ensure that all display foods are merchandised attractively per standards
  • Serve food neatly and attractively per standards
